The mission of the Garden Grove Police Department, through a community partnership, is to improve the quality of life in the city and provide a sense of safety and security to the community members. The police department is under the leadership of a chief and consists of three bureaus, the community policing bureau, the support services bureau, and the administrative services bureau. Other divisions include cadet program, investigations, special investigations, civilian report writers, K9, special weapons and tactics, crime prevention, fingerprinting, traffic, patrol, gang suppression unit, youth services unit and reserve officers. The department has grown from nearly 30 officers in 1957 to more than 160 sworn members today. The Garden Grove Police Department is located in Garden Grove, Calif.
