History

Functional Steel Objects was started by Staci Southwick a Sculptor/conceptual artist. The intention behind FSO is to design functional, modern objects out of Steel. In 1996 when we started we wanted to move away from the traditional rod iron look that steel has been associated with for railings and architectural design. Our approach to design is to use mild steel to create a modern, clean line aesthetic for furniture, architectural elements, railings and other custom designs. We also use traditional black smith techniques to create an old world aesthetic.

Specialties

FSO specializes in custom furnishings, architectural railings, gates, stairs and doors. We design and build for commercial and residential clientele.
