Friends of the Los Angeles River (FoLAR) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to revitalizing the LA River for the benefit of both residents and urban wildlife. Through advocacy, community engagement, and educational programs, FoLAR connects Angelenos of all ages with their local river, fostering a deeper appreciation and understanding of its ecological importance.

FoLAR organizes significant events such as the annual Great LA River CleanUp, which mobilizes thousands of volunteers to remove trash and enhance the river's environment. With a commitment to sustainability and environmental justice, the organization actively promotes policies and initiatives that aim to create accessible, vibrant public spaces along the river's 51 miles.
