History

courtney & james James has an extensive background in scuba diving and started his photo career almost 20 years ago shooting for dive magazines. Photographing underwater comes just as naturally to James as swimming is for a fish! Courtney graduated from Brooks Institute with honors and has been working professionally ever since. Working with people outdoors, finding beautiful light, and capturing all the magic in interactions, relationships, and even in quiet moments makes portrait photography exciting for Courtney. their story Courtney Turner moved to Santa Barbara for photography while James Forte moved to Santa Barbara for the ocean. After meeting, they soon embarked on a new path together that led to marriage and Turner Forte Photography. Whether on the road or roaming across the seven seas, they love taking photos above and below the water. They live and work between Ojai and Santa Barbara, which provides the perfect surftosummit backdrop they are proud to call home.

Courtney and James spend half the year shooting and the other half managing their collection of images. They are always planning their next adventure, while catching up from the latest one! Courtney and James reside in Ojai, California where they manage their stock and freelance photography business. Ojai provides the perfect surf-to-summit backdrop and close proximity to LAX for worldwide travel.
