Forgotten Animals of Los Angeles (FALA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing homeless cats and alleviating their suffering. Founded in 1999 by Charleen Sweeney and Shirley Russo, FALA is comprised of a group of passionate animal rescuers who work tirelessly to educate the public about responsible pet ownership and promote the humane treatment and sterilization of pets. Through their extensive screening process, FALA ensures that rescued animals receive the necessary medical care and are placed in loving, permanent homes.

FALA's volunteers are committed to saving stray animals from misery and death, with 98% of their animals being rescued from the streets. They employ a trap, neuter, return (TNR) policy to control and maintain the feral cat population, and provide comprehensive care to rescued animals, including vaccinations, neutering, testing, microchipping, and necessary medical treatments. FALA also offers in-home behavioral sessions with every adoption and engages in various activities to support the well-being of animals, such as bringing them to senior centers and hospitals. With a meticulous screening process and ongoing support for adoptive parents, FALA ensures that animals in their care receive the attention and care they deserve.
