History

In June of 2004, he decided to turn a spare bedroom, in his rented Victorian Flat, into his Home Studio and Music Library, thus Fingersnaps Media Arts was born! Over the last 14+ years, Fingersnaps has continued to carry out its core value and focus of creating opportunity. Since opening Fingersnaps' doors, DJ Lamont has been able to open doors for hundreds of people, through teaching, in both private one-on-one DJ Lessons and in small group classes. Fingersnaps Media Arts was founded to create, educate, and inspire DJ's to achieve their artistic and vocational aspirations...and over a decade later, the vision continues to grow and the dream lives on! Learning to DJ is a process. Patients and practice is the foundation to becoming a skillful competent DJ. Becoming a great DJ takes years of study and comprehension of the various aspects of understanding DJ equipment and DJ software, maintaining a music library, and learning the key functions of spinning music which is segueing, beating mixing, sampling, scratching, looping, and tricks Fingersnaps Media Arts is a DJ school where music enthusiast can learn the art of spinning music, Learn to DJ using Turntables, DJ software, XDJ's and DJ Controllers. Learn to express yourself with beatmixing, sampling, scratching, looping, editing, and remixing. Be spontaneous and creative with special effects along with a ton of tricks and techniques spinning your favorite music.
