History

My journey in photography started back in 2006 in the height of the scrapbooking era! I was creating 12x12 paper layouts of my sons, who at the time were 2 & 6. I loved to create layouts and was obsessed with how colors and texture came together to create something that was almost like a piece of artwork to me. Though I loved to create layouts, I found that I loved capturing images of my children for those layouts even more! My creative need was met not in the pages of the scrapbook but in the process of creating the images for those pages. In that same year I was lucky enough to travel to Chicago to learn from one of my idols in the industry, Audrey Woulard. Her passion for children and the art of photographing them was infectious! I left that workshop not looking back. I have been pursuing my dream ever since. My love of photographing children is in their ability to be honest, organic and raw not only in their actions but in their interactions with me and the ones they love.

With a passion for the art of children's photography and a heart for capturing the innocent, organic nature of children of all ages, it is my goal to provide parents with tangible memories of the most precious years of their lives...the journey of raising children, from birth to high school graduation. Miles stones are the prefect excuse to seek out a professional photographer. Being able to capture and preserve these special mile stones is priceless. Fara Smith Photography specializes in newborn and child portraiture which includes high school seniors and is located in Lincoln, CA. Newborn sessions are all shot at my rustic, french country feel, in home studio, located in Lincoln Crossing, while most child and senior portrait sessions are shot on location in the beautiful surrounding areas of Lincoln, Loomis, Rocklin, Roseville, Auburn and Sacramento CA.
