Family Support Services of the Bay Area

Family Support Services of the Bay Area, also known as FSSBA, is a private, nonprofit organization that supports parents and other caregivers of vulnerable children. Founded in 1989, the organization helps caregivers nurture their children and keep their families intact. It provides respite care and family preservation programs for children, youths, families and the community. Family Support Services of the Bay Area serves Alameda and Contra Costa counties in California. With a location in San Francisco, the organization s mentoring program serves children of incarcerated parents by creating one-on-one mentoring relationships with community members. Its kinship program supports grandparents and other relative caregivers in order to allow their children to remain within their extended families and communities.
