The husband and wife team started the south LA machine shop specializing in custom screws, with just two Brown and Sharpe machines and one lathe. Their son Carlos began part time work in the shop at 14 years old. By the age of 20, he was working at the shop full-time. Today, Carlos runs Matteson with over 40 years of machining experience.
