Encinitas Boat Houses

Encinitas Boat Houses, located in a serene neighborhood of beach houses in Encinitas, California, features two unique structures, the SS Encinitas and SS Moonlight, which have never set sail. Built in the late 1920s by architect Miles Kellogg using salvaged materials, these boathouses exemplify early California courtyard architecture and historic vernacular design associated with Historic Highway 101.

Currently operated by the Encinitas Preservation Association, the boathouses serve as private dwellings, with plans to convert them into a small museum after the loan is paid off.
