Emeryville Citizens Assistance Program (ECAP) in Emeryville, CA, is dedicated to ensuring that food is readily available to all individuals. Their primary mission is to offer food, support, and empathy to those in need in Emeryville and the neighboring Bay Area communities. Serving around 300 families and individuals daily, six days a week, ECAP plays a vital role in addressing food insecurity.

At ECAP, individuals can visit the food distribution center designed in a farmers market style, operational from Monday to Saturday between 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Here, visitors can access nourishing food for their families, as well as essential household items and furnishings for their homes. Additionally, ECAP conducts homeless outreach by providing meals to approximately 26 homeless encampments along the I-80 and I-880 corridors.

Moreover, ECAP participates in the USDA Temporary Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) on the third Saturday of each month, between 12:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. By offering food distributions under this program, ECAP further contributes to alleviating food insecurity in the region. In addition to food assistance, ECAP assists clients in identifying and addressing their specific needs by connecting them with local agencies for guidance, housing, employment, or emergency support.
