History

The Eastside Cafe is an multidisciplinary, autonomous space that is led by residents of El Sereno. We started our collective in 2001 and opened our doors in 2004 due to the lack of recreational venues. Our model is built on social justice issues effecting our communities and Our inspiration comes from the Zapatista movement who took matters into their own hands. No We're not an actual cafe but would like to think we have a creative atmosphere with dialogue, cultural events and the arts, who knows maybe one day we will be!
