The Eastern Los Angeles Regional Center, located in Alhambra, Calif., is a private nonprofit organization under contract to the California Department of Developmental Services. The department coordinates and provides community-based services to people with developmental disabilities in the state of California. The services provided by the center include advocacy, community education, community living coordination, community resource development, early intervention services, and evaluation and diagnosis. Its services also include information and referral, parent training, person-centered planning, program monitoring, quality assurance and service coordination. The regional center assists the individual or family in obtaining services that are identified in the individual plan.
