History

John has been providing drum lessons for well over a decade to students of all ages and ability levels. Starting in Morgantown, WV at Fawley Music Co., John quickly became one of the most highly sought after instructors in West Virginia. Many of his students have gone on to pursue professional careers in music, both as performers and educators. After moving to southern California in 2013, John started teaching in the greater Los Angeles area, both at his private studio in North Hollywood and as a member of the staff at Eagle Rock Music Studio, in Eagle Rock, CA.

I have had hundreds of students over the years and many of them have gone on to college percussion programs, drum corps, as well as professional performances. I also have extensive professional playing experience in several different types of bands, so I can very easily teach you how to play in a variety of styles.
