Dr. Greg Takenishi, MD

Dr. Greg Takenishi is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with subspecialty training in Sports Medicine and more than 15 years of experience diagnosing and treating complex musculoskeletal and sports-related injuries. As head team physician for the Sacramento River Cats and a team physician for the San Francisco Giants, he specializes in advanced arthroscopic techniques, cartilage restoration, and joint preservation. He is one of only three specialists in Northern California performing the arthroscopic MACI (Matrix-induced Autologous Chondrocyte Implantation) procedure, a cutting-edge treatment that stimulates cartilage regeneration and restores knee function. Dr. Takenishi integrates advanced biologic therapies and minimally invasive surgical techniques to accelerate recovery and optimize long-term outcomes.
