Dr. Gary M. Abrams, MD is a highly experienced neurologist and the director of the Neurorehabilitation Program at UCSF Medical Center in San Francisco, CA. With a focus on rehabilitation medicine, Dr. Abrams specializes in treating chronic disorders and injuries of the nervous system, particularly the late effects of stroke and traumatic brain injury. He is also actively involved in research on innovative methods of cognitive rehabilitation. Dr. Abrams received his medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh and completed his neurology training at the Neurological Institute of New York at Columbia University. He has been a valued member of the UCSF faculty since 1995 and serves as the rehabilitation section chief at the San Francisco Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
