Dinosaur Caves Park is an 11-acre ocean-front park located in Pismo Beach, CA. It offers a variety of amenities including a wedding location with ocean views, a grassy reception area, an amphitheater for entertainment events, and a large unique play area featuring dinosaur sculptures and swings. The park is popular among walkers, photographers, dog lovers, joggers, and fishing enthusiasts, and also provides restroom facilities and off-street parking.
The park gets its name from the unfinished brontosaurus sculpture that was built in the 1940s to attract visitors to a souvenir shop and caves attraction. Over the years, the property went through various ownerships and uses until it was purchased by the City of Pismo Beach in 1992. After a public consultation process, it was decided that the community wanted a park, and the Dinosaur Caves Preservation Society was formed to oversee its development. Today, Dinosaur Caves Park offers a scenic and recreational space for locals and visitors to enjoy.
