History

After starting my practice in San Diego in 1990, I practiced TCM acupuncture and Chinese herbs for 14 years. In the course of those years, I took many classes, always looking to improve my skills and, thus, improving the care given to my patients. Finally, I came across an introductory class for Classical Five-Element Acupuncture, and, after taking the class, I realized that I had found the system of acupuncture I was looking for--one that was holistic and addressed issues beyond just the physical. After taking the year-long course, I started practicing in that style, gradually developing my own version of it, something I call Quan Yin-Style Five-Element Acupuncture, or Quan Yin Acupuncture, for short. This style of acupuncture not only addresses physical symptoms, but also the underlying emotional causes, so that true healing can occur.

Specialties

Healing is the releasing of emotional baggage. It is my belief that we, as human beings, operate on many levels--spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical. The spiritual impacts the mental and emotional; the mental impacts the emotional; and the emotional impacts the physical.
