Dept of Forestry & Fire Prot

California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection provides fire protection for the county of San Luis Obispo, the city of Pismo Beach, the Avila Beach Community Services District, and the Los Osos Community Services District by cooperative agreements. It serves and safeguards the community from the impact of fire, emergency injury and illness, and other physical dangers by providing emergency fire and rescue response, public education, planning, and prevention for the county and its residents. San Luis Obispo County Fire Training Bureau in cooperation with Allan Hancock College and the San Luis Obispo Training Officers Association provides year-round training to fire fighters and fire technology students in the county. The department also responds to surf and swiftwater rescues, flood emergencies, and building collapses. It is headquartered in San Luis Obispo, Calif.
