History

In the 80's, the neighborhood consisted of three small mom and pop grocery stores and a meat market (which is the location today). Overtime all the businesses eventually closed there was no competing with Safeway 3 blocks away. The meat market was purchased by Mom and Pop and turned into a grocery store of its own in 1980. Mom and Pop met in San Francisco - both were from the old country. Both were working hard at their various jobs while dating and eventually married. Denhards Market was a purchase made by the newly married couple. Today their son oversees everything providing new blood and insight into the business.

I briefly stopped here on a weekend morning so it wasn't busy at all. The store was clean and looks like a typical mom and pop corner store. The owner was very friendly.
