History

Bill Mares, who had been working in the Jewelry industry since 1962, decided to open his own business. Bill's father, Jim, suggested naming the business like the DeBeers Diamond Mines And using his sister Myra Dee, and daughter Dee Suzanne - adding the Family surname and calling it DeMares Jewelers. The store opened in Vallejo's Larwin Plaza Shopping Center in 1971.
