Delhi is a census-designated place (CDP) in Merced County, California, USA. Delhi is located 18 miles (29 km) west-northwest of Merced, at an elevation of 118 feet (36 m). According to the 2010 cenus, the population was 10,755 up from 8,022 at the 2000 census.
Its name comes from its proximity to the Delta-Highline Canal and is pronounced "del-high", not like Delhi, India.
Delhi is located at 37°25?56?N 120°46?43?W / 37.43222°N 120.77861°W / 37.43222; -120.77861. It lies across the Merced River from Livingston. Hilmar is to the west; Turlock to the north; and Ballico to the east.
