Danlos Dog Training

History

Although I have trained my own dogs and helped others train theirs since the mid 60's, training here at the ranch started in 1999 after our relocation. Many of you may be familiar with Danlos Kennels on Highway 4, we boarded dogs and cats for over 30 years. The realignment of Highway 4 meant we had to move to our new location. The topography of our new site did not allow boarding dogs in the indoor/outdoor fashion that we preferred, but there was a barn which allows year-round training. I had trained dog obedience classes for the City of Hercules for over 20 years and for Contra Costa County Kennel Club for about this same. Beginning and Intermediate Obedience classes started up in 1999, and Agility classes were started in 2000. Some of my students do show and compete with their dogs, many do it for their enjoyment and bonding time with their favorite canine!

Specialties

Dog training classes are taught in a group situation so that your dog learns right from the beginning to work with distractions. A strong foundation is taught with more being added at all times so not only do both you and your dog learn more about your dog being obedient, but you and your dog bond . This creates an atmosphere in which your dog wants to be with you sharing your life, and you realize all the benefits of dog ownership.
