HistoryHere on the banks of the Rio Hondo, the last armed conflict was staged with Mexico for possession of California at the Battle of the Rio San Gabriel on January 8, 1847. The Adobe was built about one mile from the site of the first San Gabriel Mission and was part of the 2,363-acre Rancho La Merced.SpecialtiesWe are a historical site and museum.
