About A.G. Layne A.G. Layne was built in 1964 by Shell Oil Company as a distributor or jobber of their quality fuels, lubricants and solvents. After a few years the business was sold to a former Shell employee named Alton G. Layne. Hence the name, A.G. Layne. A.G. Layne has remained a family business ever since.
