Communities In Schools

Founded in 1994, Communities In Schools serves youth and families throughout Los Angeles. Also known as CIS, it offers tutoring, mentoring and job placement assistance services. The organization administers job development, parent involvement, and gang prevention and intervention programs. Communities In Schools serves more than 780 youths and young adults annually. It conducts safety training, anger management and parenting classes. The organization provides job readiness training, family counseling, conflict resolution and community mobilization solutions. Communities In Schools organizes field trips, recreational events, and sports activities and tournaments. It offers gang reduction youth development and high risk probation youth employment programs.
