History

An actively perfoming musician, Cole has been offering private lessons in Santa Cruz county since 2010, when he started as an instructor at Lloyd's Music in Scott's Valley. After two years at this location, he began teaching through Sylvan Music as adjunct teaching faculty, which has continued until the present.

About: Cole Berry is a drum set and percussion performer and educator in Santa Cruz, CA. Equally tempered in jazz and classical percussion from his University of California training, Cole also has an extensive resume as a funk, West African and Afro-Brazilian percussionist, teaching and performing in both traditional and contemporary contexts throughout California. Lessons: I strive to offer a balanced curriculum that caters to student's musical preferences and goals. By blending the classical method of healthy technique, sight reading, theory and rudimental studies, with an interdisciplinary approach that utilizes traditional rhythms and techniques of the African diaspora, students receive a unique drum education that is thorough, engaging and fun.
