History
In 2007, after an experience at a large managed care practice, I decided to open my own practice, offering specialized client-focused therapy where clients feel connected to the process and supported as they make their desired life changes. Although the practice has taken on different iterations over time, including supporting therapists through their licensing process, as of 2019, I returned to my roots as a solo practitioner. I am now a fully virtual practice. My clients continue to make great strides while getting to avoid the frustration and time wasting that goes into small talk when they are frustrated because there was traffic on the way to the office or they couldn't find a parking spot. With virtual therapy, my clients could be anywhere they were comfortable, at home, at their office, in their parked cars, or even sitting out in a park - wherever they wanted to be. What a game-changer!!
Specialties
My work focuses on helping my clients make changes in their life they have struggled to make on their own. These changes often take on a theme of having healthier relationships, decreasing self-destructive substance use behaviors, healing from past trauma, increasing their confidence, and helping them reconcile their past struggles to forge a new path to their future. Since 2001, I've served clients from all walks of life. I strive to be racially and culturally sensitive and inclusive. Through the move to a virtual practice in 2020, I've been able to expand my practice territory to serve clients throughout the state of California as well as Florida. In addition to providing therapy as needed, The Coaching Through Chaos website is designed to be a hub of helpful (free) self-education materials. There is a blog page, a link to the Coaching Through Chaos Podcast, as well as links to other media sources I've had the honor of contributing to over the years.
