Aegis Medical Systems specializes in the treatment of substance abuse and related medical, psychological and socio-economic conditions. It operates one of the largest networks of narcotic treatment programs in the United States. In addition to addiction treatment through replacement therapy, Aegis Medical Systems has implemented various protocols and procedures for the treatment of co-occurring mental conditions, sexually transmitted infections, case management, vocational rehabilitation and nutritional disorders. It maintains strategic alliances with the California Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs, Federal Drug Enforcement Administration, Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities and Food and Drug Administration. Aegis Medical Systems additionally undertakes pharmaceutical and behavioral research and development projects with several government agencies, research institutions and pharmaceutical companies.
