The Cloverdale Historical Society, established in 1968, is dedicated to preserving and showcasing the rich history of Cloverdale, California. Located in the Gothic Revival Victorian known as The Gould-Shaw House, one of the oldest documented dwellings in the area, the museum offers visitors a glimpse into the Victorian Era architectural style and the local natural and human history through its exhibits, archives, and extensive collection of artifacts and ephemera.
With a focus on celebrating the heritage of Cloverdale's first people, the society also presents the Ba bih a men Basket Collection, featuring over 100 baskets that tell the story of Vera Jack, who fought to retain fragments of her Indian culture in a time when it was frowned upon. By becoming a member or volunteering at the Cloverdale Historical Society, visitors can actively contribute to the preservation and promotion of the town's fascinating history.
