The Public Works Department is a division of the city of Woodland, Calif., and offers a range of services and programs. The department s engineering division provides transportation and traffic engineering, development services, design, infrastructure construction, inspection and utilities engineering services. Its operations and maintenance department provides maintenance of the city's street system, including signs and markings, sidewalk, curb and gutter and provides traffic signals and street lights repairing services. The Public Works Department also provides emergency services in the time of storms and other natural disasters. It fleet and facilities maintenance division is responsible for the administration and operation of the municipal garage and the maintenance of all City vehicles and equipments. Additionally, the department provides waste water treatment and recycling services for residents.

The Streets Maintenance Division is a part of the operations and maintenance unit of the public works department of the city of Richmond in California. It is responsible for the maintenance of street surfaces and sub-surfaces, removal and replacement of deteriorated pavement surfaces, and filling and repairing of potholes. The division has a traffic signs and lines section that provides installation and replacement of directional and street name signs and pavement reflectors. The Streets Maintenance Division also offers painting and thermoplastic installation and replacement of crosswalks and pavement messages for vehicular and pedestrian traffic control. It provides daily mechanical street sweeping services for commercial and residential areas and scheduled thoroughfares.
