Founded in 1913, the City of Hope is a comprehensive cancer center designated by the National Cancer Institute (NCI). The center undertakes biomedical research, treatment and educational activities for the prevention and cure of cancers and various other life-threatening diseases. It is a founding member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network, which is an alliance of cancer centers that defines and sets standards for cancer care throughout the United States. The City of Hope specializes in the research, prevention and treatment of prostrate, breast and musculoskeletal cancers. The center has been involved in the development of breakthrough cancer drugs, such as Herceptin, Rituxan, Avastin and Erbitux.

It's so nice to have a little farmers market right on campus. You can take a quick break from the office or lab and do a little shopping. It's small, but the basics are there. Veggies...
