History

I was clueless and very pregnant. I took a class, read the books, and still felt like I was missing something... well everything really. And my first birth experience was amazing but difficult. As I reflected back on my birth I knew I wanted to provide something valuable to other women. I knew I had to do something, I've spent the last 7 1/2 years in labor support services and I have been teaching childbirth courses for the last three and a half years. I received my doula training from CAPPA (Childbirth and Postpartum Association). And have spent years studying labor, nutrition, and the history of childbirth. I've developed a curriculum, that is truly one of a kind: I have interviewed dozens of OBs, Midwives, Nurses -- seeing what they wished their patients knew before hand. I asked moms what they wish they would have done differently and what was missing from the classes they took. This knowledge has allowed me to create a curriculum that truly meets the needs of my clients.

My mission at Christian Lawson Birth is to provide quality care for mothers and babies through education and hands on experiences. In doing so helping women understand how to have an easier and shorter labor, discover comfort measures for pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum, all while learning how to handle the unpredictability that accompanies childbirth; achieving this through a creative and unique curriculum that truly meets the needs of my clients.
