Founded in 1971, Via Avanta is a family program for women with substance abuse problems and their children. Located in Pacoima, Calif., it is a part of Didi Hirsch Community Mental Health Center, which provides mental health and substance abuse services in Los Angeles County, Calif. The parent agency serves nearly 44,000 children, families, adults and senior citizens.
