Charles "Buddy" Rogers was a renowned film actor, band leader, and philanthropist. Born in 1904, he began his career in the entertainment industry after being discovered by talent scouts from Paramount studios just before his graduation from the University of Kansas. He starred in the 1927 film Wings, which won the first Academy Award for Best Picture, and went on to appear in 39 films.
