Chanate Historic Cemetery, located in Santa Rosa, CA, served as a burial ground from 1877 until 1944, when it reached capacity. The cemetery occupies land that once hosted the county poor farm and the Pest House, where individuals suffering from infectious diseases were cared for and later interred.

Notably, Chanate Cemetery was the only burial site that allowed Chinese individuals, who often faced exclusion from other graveyards due to their non-Christian beliefs. With a total of at least 1,561 graves, approximately 100 of these belong to members of the Chinese community.
