Cesar E. Chavez National Monument in Keene, CA is widely recognized as the most important Latino leader in the United States during the twentieth century, leading farm workers and supporters in the establishment of the country's first permanent agricultural union, which brought sustained international attention to the plight of U.S. farm workers and secured higher wages and safer working conditions.
The UFW grew from its roots as a farm workers union to become a national voice for the disenfranchised, making Cesar E. Chavez National Monument a significant site that showcases the history of change and the fight for civil rights, cultural landscapes, Pacific Coast immigration, climate change, and the conservation movement.

A very nicely built monument to remember one of the most prominent people in the National Farmer' Association's history. The garden they have outside is a nice sanctuary and very peaceful.
