History

The Fremont Senior Center, part of the City of Fremont Human Services Department, was established 32 years ago to provide a welcoming place for seniors in the community to gather and learn, eat a good nutritious meal, avail themselves of free health services, and enjoy life. Through the years we've expanded to include people of all ages in our programs, as well as our excellent meals, local and international trips and educational classes. We have recently begun serving a hot, cooked to order breakfast also on Monday and Wednesday mornings for $3 or 3.50 for non-members. Check out our activities on the city website, www.fremont.gov and join us for one of our 60+ classes and services including: Tai Chi, Zumba, Creative Writing, Needlecrafts, Internet Class, Health Insurance Counseling, Dance with a live band, Health Services, Legal Assistance and much more.

Specialties

Delicious cooked onsite meals Monday through Friday by talented Chefs Ron and Jeffrey. Enjoy Prime Rib, Barbequed Ribs and Chicken, Fresh Salmon and Ahi Tuna, Lamb Shanks, as well as old fashioned favorites like Meatloaf and Homemade Lasagna. Prices are very reasonable at $4 for Senior Center members and $6 for non-members (some meals may be $1 more). All meals include an entree, vegetable, salad, rice/potato/starch, bread, butter, dessert, and coffee. Meals usually can be purchased on the same day, though special meals do sell out. Call the office at 510-790-6600 to check availability. Visit our website for the monthly menu. Seem like it's too good to be true? Not at all; we're the real thing, but not everyone knows about us yet! We're located in beautiful Central Park next to Lake Elizabeth. Have lunch with friends then take a stroll around the lake! Hope to see you soon!

What I witnessed should honestly be condemned by the health department. I've had night terrors less horrifying than what I saw in there. Came by yesterday for my nephew's birthday and initially,...

Pros: It's a nice park with large lake. Plenty of plants and animals. Plenty of areas for picnics or sports. Cons: Lots of goose poop. Parking could be difficult. Lake activities seem prohibited.

It's a giant toilet bowl for geese and ducks. I had to hippity-hop hop for 2.5 miles on the loop in the mornings. What I love is walking around the calm lake, taking nature photography, and...
