Founded in 1974, Community Violence Solutions is one of the oldest rape crisis management centers in the United States. The organization is a nonprofit agency that provides support services for children and adult victims of sexual assault. Located in San Pablo, Calif., it operates the Rape Crisis Center, which conducts training sessions for volunteers to become certified sexual assault counselors. The Rape Crisis Center also conducts training for law enforcement personnel and health care providers. Community Violence Solutions also operates the Stepping Stones Counseling Center, which provides treatment for more than 400 individuals every year. The Stepping Stones Counseling Center offers parenting education, family empowerment and case management services. Community Violence Solutions operates a center that provides services for children who are sexually abused. In addition, it offers child forensic interviewing, nonacute medical examination and advocacy services.

The Women's Center of San Joaquin County offers a variety of supportive, educational and crisis intervention services for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Founded in 1976, it operates undisclosed emergency shelters for battered women and their children. The agency s domestic violence department offers individual and group counseling, advocacy, accompaniment and referral services. The agency also conducts prevention education and community outreach programs that include information on personal safety and prevention for several local schools, businesses and organizations. In addition, it organizes and participates in several events, such as annual gifts campaigns, domestic violence awareness month, annual luncheons, walkathons and donor appreciation receptions. The Women's Center of San Joaquin County is located in Stockton, Calif.
