University Health Services, at the Tang Center, located Berkeley, Calif., provides comprehensive medical care, counseling, health promotion and public health services to Berkeley students, staff and segments of the Berkeley campus community, as well as several other local institutions. It also provides occupational health services to faculty and staff. All services are designed to minimize the impact of illness, emotional distress and injury on studies and work. The facility is fully accredited, staffed by board-certified physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, a nutritionist and nurses. A comprehensive counseling center, staffed by psychiatrists, psychologists and licensed therapists, offers individual and group counseling and includes a complete career counseling center. Its health promotion unit offers programs and services for keeping students healthy and safe, including many opportunities for students to get involved in public health campaigns on the campus.
