The California Golf Club of San Francisco, commonly known as Cal Club, was founded in 1918 and originally located in Ingleside. In 1924, the club moved to its current site on 425 acres of the former Baden Farm, where its rolling hills and scenic views create an ideal setting for golf.
The course was initially designed by Willie Locke and A. Vernon Macan, with later enhancements from Alister MacKenzie and a restoration by Kyle Phillips in 2007-2008. Cal Club is recognized for its fast and firm playing conditions and is a private club that primarily operates as a walking course, requiring appropriate golf attire and adherence to specific play guidelines.
