Founded in 1987, Mule Creek State Prison is spread over an area of more than 800 acres. It houses over 3,500 inmates and is a part of the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, which is administered by the State of California. The prison offers a safe, secure and disciplined environment for criminal offenders. It administers training programs in coffee roasting, laundry, meat processing and digital mapping.
