Horseback riding, swimming, sports and backyard games, arts and crafts, creative dramatics and counselor-directed group choice activities are a few of the daily rituals campers take part in at Cali-Camp Summer Day Camp. The goal of the youth summer camp is for the kids to develop relationships, build a sense of belonging and self-confidence through their stay while they learn about the environment in which they live. The independent camp in Topanga, Calif., has been offering its summer program for more than 50 years. Cali-Camp Summer Day Camp group assignments for the campers are selected by their grade in school, chronological age level, the friend the camper requests to be grouped with and any pertaining special needs.
