Started in 1991, the festival has become a very popular event, drawing thousands of visitors to pick pumpkins from a patch near the Farm Store. The College of Agriculture grows 70,000 pumpkins for the event.

The Cal Poly Pomona Pumpkin Festival is a two-day event held every October at the AGRIscapes Center at Cal Poly Pomona. From a modest start in 1993, the festival today draws thousands of visitors to pick pumpkins from a patch near the Farm Store. The Huntley College of Agriculture grows 40,000 pumpkins for the event. The festival also features a corn maze, hayrides, pony rides, and a petting zoo. Visitors can play games run by student clubs or listen to live music. Contests are held for pie-eating, pumpkin-seed spitting, and Halloween costumes. It also includes a children's activity zone with fun stuff like squash tunnels and a hay pyramid.
