History

Butterfield Manufactured Home & RV Community was founded as a rest station for the Butterfield Overland Mail Company which was the first federally chartered postal service west of the Mississippi and ran from Saint Louis to San Francisco. The rise of the railroad ended the Stagecoach business. Around 1965 the property was transformed into what was then known as a mobile home and trailer park.
