Burbank Elementary School, established in 1966, is one of the first schools in Virginia to introduce the International Baccalaureate Program to elementary students. The school s basic curriculum emphasizes on reading, mathematics, handwriting, art, language arts, social studies, science, family life, music, spelling, library and media resource, and physical education. Its additional programs include education for gifted children, speech and language, guidance and counseling, special education, and Spanish. Burbank Elementary School is governed by Hampton City Schools, and its classrooms are equipped with individual telephones. Burbank Elementary School also organizes field trips. It is located in Hampton, Va.
