History

I began teaching private piano lessons to my friends children in the early '80s and discovered that I liked teaching. I began writing arrangements of popular songs to make the lessons more fun which led to the gradual creation of a series of piano lesson books I call Learning Piano. That then led to the creation of a series of support books that cover a broad range of styles including classical, folk, rock, jazz, boogie, and blues. My first instrument as a child was saxophone, so I've always loved jazz and have published a number of transcription books for students. I played saxophone, clarinet, and flute professionally for many years but now I only teach.
