Breathe Ojai

History

{Our Origin Story} The seeds for Breathe Ojai were planted in 2014. The founder, Francesca Gold, wrote out plans for a person-centered community center which would serve as a hub for accessible and equitable health services for everyone. After years of searching for a suitable space to open Breathe Ojai, Francesca found this inspirational second floor community-hall-like space. Over a decade of professional training, business planning, preparing, trial and error, a month of hard physical labor to renovate the space (with the help of a dozen community members), and a lot of behind the scenes work, Breathe Ojai was ready to officially open its doors in March 2022, a spring birth which took 8 years to bloom. Plans to expand to larger community spaces and to provide access to more services are among the future plans for Breathe Ojai.

Breathe Ojai specializes in meeting you where you're at. Our teachers have come together to bring something different to the modern yoga landscape; with each individual interweaving their own unique gifts, perspective, and life lessons into what they offer. We rely on evidence based research, textual scholarly sources, modern scientific findings, and the living tradition of yoga and other dharmic traditions to guide us. Yoga is adaptive intelligence and Breathe Ojai is your community hub for seeking out uplifting, down to earth, and supportive ways to tap into that intelligence.
