Boys & Girls Clubs of America is a social welfare organization that maintains one of its locations in Sacramento, Calif. It offers programs in the areas of education; health, life skills and leadership development; athletics; and drug, gang and pregnancy prevention. The organization provides CareerLaunch, which is a mentoring program that includes taking Internet-based surveys, identifying training and college requirements, and obtaining financial aid for teenagers between the ages of 13 and 18. Its Project Learn includes activities, such as leisure reading, writing, homework assistance and games for youths, cognitive skills development. Boys & Girls Clubs of America also imparts Internet safety skills through multimedia activities and offline interaction with professionals. Its wellness program includes sports clubs, Triple Play games and social recreational activities. The organization also provides programs related to personal and shopping safety.
