History

Boxer Rescue Los Angeles (BRLA) was founded in 1977 by Ursula Sauthier. BRLA has grown from a one woman - one Boxer effort to one of the largest breed specific rescues in the nation. Devoted troops of volunteers provide the necessary back bone of BRLA with hands tasks like transporting, training, walking and matchmaking at adoptions to behind the scenes like screening potential adopters, marketing, website, advertising and fundraising. It is an amazing team effort and the results are the happy Boxers and even happier families that make them members of their families. BRLA works in conjunction with all local shelters and partners with other rescue organization to help as many homeless Boxers be homeless no more.

Boxer Rescue LA (BRLA) has been saving the lives of Boxers in need since 1977. Our mission is to find an appropriate loving home for available BRLA Boxers. Our full time facility can house up to 65 Boxers available for adoption. Potential adopters fill out an application in advance providing information that allows our skilled matchmaking team to help find the right Boxer. The adoption process is not just finding the right Boxer but taking the time to provide adopters with information on successful integration to their home and lifestyles. All Boxers are sterilized, micro-chipped and have their vaccinations updated before they go home. BRLA successfully places about 400 Boxers in loving homes each year.
